Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 27, 2026
Drop shows how busy places are in real time. To do that, the app counts you in when you enter a place and out when you leave. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can delete it. It applies to the Drop apps for iOS and Android and to dropapp.app. Drop is operated by All Items LLC ("we", "us").
Anonymous to Other Users
Other users never see who you are or where you are. They only see anonymous crowd counts.
No Movement History
We don't keep a history of where you go. We keep only what's needed to count you in and out of places.
Apple or Google Sign-In
You sign in with Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). We never see or store your password.
No Ads, No Selling
We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive and store your email address, your name (if your sign-in provider shares it), and an account ID. Apple's "Hide My Email" addresses work too.
- Location: Drop uses your device's precise location to detect when you enter or leave a place, including in the background. We store which place you're currently at so you can be counted, and an approximate area (roughly 1 km) so we can load places near you. Each update replaces the last one; we don't keep a history of your movements.
- Things you create: Events you create (name, address, schedule), busyness reports you submit, and reports you file about an event.
- Place searches: What you type into place search is sent to our servers to look up matching places.
- App activity and device information: When you open and close the app, which permission prompts you've seen, your device manufacturer, and whether battery optimization is turned off for Drop. We use this to keep the app working reliably.
- Notification token: A push-notification token so we can send you notifications.
We don't collect your contacts, photos, messages, phone number, or payment information, and we don't use an advertising ID.
2. How We Use Location
- Counting people in places: We add +1 to a place's count when you arrive and -1 when you leave.
- Background location: "Always Allow" (iOS) or "Allow all the time" (Android) is required so you're counted even when the app is closed. On Android, Drop may briefly show a notification while it confirms that you've left a place.
- Nearby places: Your approximate area is used to show and update places near you.
3. How We Share Information
- Other users only see total crowd counts, never your identity or location.
- We use service providers to run Drop: Google Firebase (sign-in, database, and notifications), Cloudflare (our servers), and Apple Maps (place search). They process data only to provide their services to us.
- We do not sell your personal data or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Retention and Security
- Your presence at a place is kept only while it's needed to keep counts accurate, then removed.
- Account information and things you create are kept until you delete your account.
- All data is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers.
5. Delete Your Account and Data
You can delete your Drop account and its data at any time:
- In the app: Open Drop, go to the Creator Dashboard, and tap Delete Account. Your account is deleted right away.
- Without the app: Email [email protected] from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my Drop account". We'll delete your account within 30 days and confirm by email.
Deleting your account removes your account information, the events you created, your busyness and event reports, your app activity, and your presence at any place. Crowd counts that were already shown to others are anonymous and can't be traced back to you.
6. Children
Drop is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
